Author Guidelines

Hastagina: Jurnal Kriya dan Industri Kreatif publishes original research, theoretical concepts, and practice-based studies that contribute significantly to Craft, Design, and the Creative Economy. All submissions must adhere strictly to these guidelines.

General Submission Requirements

Language Full English (preferred for international dissemination) or high-quality Bahasa Indonesia.
Originality Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
Plagiarism Policy Maximum allowable Similarity Index is 20% (checked via Turnitin/iThenticate).
Word Count 5,000 – 8,000 words, including abstract, footnotes, and captions (excluding reference list).
Review Process Double-Blind Peer Review. Authors must fully anonymize manuscript files.
Licensing Published under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
Fees (APCs) Diamond Open Access: No fees are charged to authors at any stage (submission or publication).

Manuscript Structure

Section Detail
Title Concise, descriptive, and accurately reflective of content.
Author Information Submit on a separate title page. Include full names, affiliations, email addresses, and ORCID IDs.
Abstract 200–250 words. Succinctly state research purpose, methodology, main findings, and implications. Avoid citations.
Keywords 3–5 relevant keywords. Reflect discipline and specific theme (e.g., Sustainable Textiles, Digital Craft).
Introduction State background, clearly articulate research gap (urgency), and define research questions/objectives.
Literature Review Provides theoretical framework; must demonstrate engagement with current international scholarship.
Methodology Explain research design, data collection, or Practice-Based Creation process. Include ethical clearance if needed.
Results and Discussion Present findings clearly with analytical discussion. For creation-based articles, critically analyze the final work (wujud karya).
Conclusion Summarize main findings, highlight original contribution, and suggest future research. Do not repeat abstract.
Acknowledgments (Optional) Acknowledge funding sources or technical assistance (anonymized for initial review).
References List only cited sources strictly adhering to APA 7th Edition style.

Formatting & Style

  • File Format: Microsoft Word document (.docx).
  • Font & Layout: Times New Roman, 11pt, single-spaced, A4 paper template.
  • Headings: Maximum 3 levels, clearly distinguished.
  • Tables & Figures: Sequentially numbered with captions. Images must be high resolution (min. 300 dpi) with proper copyright permissions.

Citation & Referencing

Requires APA 7th Edition Style for citations and reference list.

  • Citation Tool: Must use reference management tools (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote).
  • Reference Quantity: Minimum 20 sources, with at least 70% from scholarly journals published in the last 10 years.

Ethical Statement

Authors must confirm upon submission:

  • Original manuscript free from plagiarism.
  • Ethical guidelines on data collection and human subjects followed.
  • All co-authors meet authorship criteria and agree to submit.
  • Conflicts of interest fully disclosed.
  • Use of AI/LLM tools clearly disclosed in Methods/Acknowledgments.

Submission Process: Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal's OJS platform following the 5-step process. Authors are strongly encouraged to download and use the official journal template.
