Abstract
One of the roles and responsibilities of the presence of graphic design in the community is to help provide solutions to communication problems. Graphic design also is a bridge to convey messages about problems that are becoming global events and talks. Some of the changes that have and are pretty impactful and confusing occurred are the emergence of the Era of Disruption, the Industrial Revolution 4.0, and Society 5.0. The Covid19 pandemic and specifically in Indonesia is the concept of independent learning on an independent campus (MBKM) which occurs hand in hand and is only understood by a small portion of the community, but the impact has been felt by the community without knowing what happened and how to deal with these changes in an easy-to-understand way.
With the Survive theme which was appointed as a theme in the even semester of 2020/2021, it is hoped that students will experience learning to be aware, recognize, understand, be able to describe, analyze problems, provide solutions, and present solutions to what are the issues in society in this situation. To be able to determine what will be raised as a title in a campaign carried out in groups, one way to build empathy and open up problems is through a symposium. From the symposium delivered by the teaching team, various phenomena were presented but still have a strong common thread with the theme Survive, students were opened to insight and invited to think divergently, namely branching thinking to see, open up opportunities and possibilities as well as potential problems that occur to be presented later to society.
