Author Guidelines
Author Guidelines for Hastagina: Journal of Craft and Creative Industries
Hastagina: Jurnal Kriya dan Industri Kreatif publishes original research, theoretical concepts, and practice-based studies that contribute significantly to the interdisciplinary fields of Craft, Design, and the Creative Economy. All submissions must adhere to these guidelines.
1. General Submission Requirements

| Word Count | 5,000 – 8,000 words, including abstract, footnotes, and captions, but excluding the reference list. |
| Review Process | Double-Blind Peer Review. Authors must ensure their identity is fully anonymized in the initial manuscript file. |
| Licensing | Authors agree to publish under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). |
| Fees (APCs) | The journal operates under a Diamond Open Access model; no fees are charged to authors at any stage (submission or publication). |
2. Manuscript Structure
Manuscripts must be organized in the following sections:

| Title | Concise, descriptive, and accurately reflect the content. |
| Author Information | Submit on a separate title page for anonymization. Include full names, affiliations, email addresses, and ORCID IDs for all authors. |
| Abstract | 200–250 words. Must succinctly state the research purpose, methodology, main findings, and theoretical/practical implications. Avoid internal citations. |
| Keywords | 3–5 relevant keywords. Should reflect the discipline (Craft/Kriya) and the specific theme (e.g., Sustainable Textiles, Digital Craft, Design Thinking). |
| Introduction | State the research background, clearly articulate the research gap (urgency), and define the research questions/objectives. |
| Literature Review / Theoretical Framework | Provides the conceptual basis for the study. Must demonstrate engagement with current, high-quality international scholarship. |
| Methodology | Detailed explanation of the research design, data collection (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-method), or the process for Practice-Based Research/Creation. Must include ethical clearance if human subjects were involved. |
| Results and Discussion | Presents findings clearly, followed by an analytical discussion that links results back to the theoretical framework and addresses the research questions. For creation-based articles, this includes a critical analysis of the final work (wujud karya) and the creative decisions. |
| Conclusion | Summarizes the main findings, highlights the original contribution, and suggests future research directions. Avoid repeating the abstract. |
| Acknowledgments (Optional) | Acknowledge funding sources or individuals who provided technical help (must be anonymized in the initial submission). |
| References | List only sources cited in the text. Must adhere strictly to the reference style (see Section 3). |
3. Formatting and Style

Layout: A4 size, with generous margins (following the provided journal template).

Headings: Use no more than three levels of headings, clearly distinguished (e.g., bold, italic).

Tables and Figures: Must be numbered sequentially (Table 1, Figure 1) and include a concise, descriptive caption. All images must be high resolution (min. 300 dpi) and authors must ensure they hold the necessary permissions (especially for images of copyrighted artworks).
4. Citation and Referencing Style
Hastagina: Jurnal Kriya dan Industri Kreatif requires authors to use the APA 7th Edition Style for in-text citations and the reference list.

Citation Tool: Authors are required to use reference management software (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote) to manage citations and generate the reference list.

Quality of References: Manuscripts should cite a minimum of 20 relevant, high-quality sources, with at least 70% of the references being from scholarly journals published in the last 10 years.
5. Ethical Statement and Disclosure
Upon submission, authors must confirm that:

Submission Process
Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal's Online Journal System (OJS) website. Follow the five-step submission process on the platform. Authors are strongly advised to download and use the official journal template.
