Abstract
Illustrated story books is one of the media that is appropriate as for historic preservation. The concepts in the book illustrated story that carries the educational history and creation an area of ancient villages,on the illustrated story books that can be conveyed interest to reading from the target audiences. Maya Danawa Antaka tells about the journey of the King of the Maya Danawa until he died against the Dewa Indra to pass through the region to this day is still named after the incident that he was a natural at the time of the journey escape from the pursuit of the God Indra of the coverage area bypassed formed into the unity of the territory of Tampaksiring. The figures contained in the book the illustrated story of the Maya Danawa Antaka are as follows: Maya Danawa, the Dewa Indra, The Gods and Warriors, the change Maya Danawa.
Design method through the method of observation, literature and interviews. Visual communication design illustrated story of the books Maya Danawa Antaka using the concept of Rwa Bhineda or balance of the two different into a single unit that is always next to each other in the draw by using the visual style of surrealism combined with Balinese tradition, Some parts of the story will use the illustration of surrealism which combine with usnsur the tradition of the Depiction of this combination will be adjusted aims to maintain the unity and uniqueness in the whole story. In addition to the design illustrated story books titled “Maya Danawa Antaka” the author also designed supporting media that include Tote bag, Account Instagram, T-shirt, a Map of the Ancient Village and Catalog of Works. Media Design not only as a medium of support from the major media that is illustrated story books but also as a role of providing information on one since who are in the mainstream media.
